Do you understand your stats? Bounce rate (sometimes confused with exit rate) is an Internet marketing term used in web traffic analysis. It represents the percentage of visitors who enter the site and "bounce" (leave the site) rather than continue viewing other pages within the same site.

From Google on canonical (almost duplicate) pages - feature added to Google Feb. 2009: "If Google knows that pages have the same content, we may index only one version for our search results. Our algorithms select the page we think best answers the user's query. Now, however, users can specify a canonical page to search engines by adding a <link> element with the attribute rel="canonical" to the <head> section of the non-canonical version of the page. Adding this link and attribute lets site owners identify sets of identical content and suggest to Google: "Of all these pages with identical content, this page is the most useful. Domain names different from business name: it is ideal to have the business name and domain name matching, but not the end of the world if it is not available. If it becomes available, then snatch it up. If the domain name you want is taken by a similar industry type business, then red flags should go up.

Domain names: to hyphenate or not to hyphenate? The question has been asked about hyphenating, underscoring or not at all. I will rule out underscoring right away, nobody is used to it, mistakes will occur. Hyphenating is just fine. From the SEO standpoint it is good because the searchable keywords are separated, makes it easier for search engines. For the surfer there is a risk of losing them if they don't get the domain name right.
