Do you look at your statistics? Analyzing your website statistics gives you valuable information on where to put focus on your site. Duration of stay (how long to people stay on your site) shows whether they are finding the content relevant to them. This is an ideal measure. |

The effects of iPad and iPhone are being seen in Internet Search. All search is down 16% over a year ago as mobile and other apps become a significant tool for navigating the web. US searches totaled 10.5 billion in July 2009 are down to 8.8 billion this past July.
Significant trend: in the past year, only Bing has seen an increase (28%) in total searches, no surprise as Microsoft is pushing hard with Bing and it is the realtive newcomer on the block.

Browser Popularity
Browser popularity is intriguing, and also very relevant in web design. Look at the statistics in the image below from the Xavier Innovations website. Most visitors are still using Internet Explorer. Version 8 is most popular, and version 7 still surprisingly high although IE7 is very buggy - of note field spacing issues seen in signup forms, contact forms.
